Do Beyonce and Jay Z Fake Their Own Cheating Rumors?

Are hip-hop’s first couple, Shawn “Jay Z” Carter and Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter (that’s right, Queen Bey went with the hyphen), about to divorce?
We have a feeling there are probably some Manhattan divorce lawyers who are praying the answer is yes. Despite Tidal failing to unseat Spotify as the music streaming service of choice, Jay Z has already tripled his investment on Tidal and earned tens of millions of dollars, while together the couple earned an incredible $100 million with their hit On The Run tour last year. With Beyonce’s Lemonade visual album dominating the current news cycle and sending entertainment news outlets into hysterics, there’s a lot of money at stake.
Or as Beyonce herself once said, “Of course sometimes sh*t go down/When it’s a billion dollars on an elevator/Ha, ha, God damn, God damn, God damn.”
A month ago, everyone and their mother was talking about a potential Jay Z-Beyonce divorce. From black celebrity news websites to the most austere news outlets, you couldn’t step outside without hearing the latest adultery and divorce rumors. Normally Hollywood gossip and entertainment news like this is just fodder for gossip sites and tabloids, but for some reason even places like The New York Times aren’t immune from the Beyonce Effect.
Yet now that Lemonade has finally been released, those divorce rumors have died down, even though black celebrity news sites have fingered Rachel Roy, Rita Ora, and many other stars as being the infamous “Becky with the good hair.” Well, according to one black celeb gossip and urban news website, that’s because “Queen Bey has found a way to turn her marital strife into Lemonade.”
If you pay close attention to the timeline and mathematics of Beyonce-related entertainment news, you’ll notice a definite pattern to the gossip. According to this black entertainment news site, “every time a new Beyonce and Jay Z divorce rumor comes out, a surprise album or tour announcement mysteriously follows” almost exactly one month later. It’s a pattern that’s too oft repeated to be entirely by accident.
And if you follow pop culture in any way, then you’ll know that celebrity gossip is full of accusations of affairs, surprise divorces, and secret love children. Queen Bey and Jay alone generate enough rumors and gossip to support hundreds of black celeb gossip sites.
That being said, even many of Queen Bey’s most loyal fans are getting wise to the drama. The lyrics in Lemonade definitely suggest that there’s some degree of truth to this particular batch of entertainment news. But even so, it’s looking more and more like the couple are playing the entire entertainment news cycle for fools.
